New 75gal. Cichlid tank

Postby thefishnoob on 02 Mar 2010, 9:48 pm

This is my first tank. There is about 140lbs. of lace rock that I got for a dollar a pound. 5 fish don`t know what they are yet, sorry. A 300gph powerhead, Ehiem 2224 canister filter and in about 3 days will be getting a Rena XP3 to run in conjunction with the Ehiem. For substrait I went with Filter sand from a pool supplier, 8$ for 50lbs. Was thinking of taking some rock out and anchoring in some silk plants into the egg crate? Hope I am doing this right my first tank and all.

Your tank looks great! Filtration sounds good, now you just gotta fill it up with fish!

It reminds me of my tank - 75gal with as much as 200lbs of lace in it. Right now I only have about 80lbs in there cuz I recently removed all my Mbuna and replaced them with Peacocks and Haps..

Good luck with the new tank!
